All-optical binary counter.

We experimentally demonstrate an all-optical binary counter composed of four semiconductor optical amplifier based all-optical switching gates. The time-of-flight optical circuit operates with bit-differential delays between the exclusive-OR gate used for modulo-2 binary addition and the AND gate used for binary carry detection. A movie of the counter operating in real time is presented.

All-optical Binary Counter by Using T Flip-flop: an Implementation

ABSTRACT: All-optical T (Toggle) flip-flop with preset (PR) and clear (CLR) are basic building modules for the development of ultra-high speed all optical binary counter. In this paper, a non-linear material based alloptical switching mechanism is utilized here to realize the all-optical T flip-flop with PR and CLR. A composite slab of linear medium (LM) and non-linear medium (NLM) is used to d...

Binary Additive Counter Stream Ciphers

Although a number of block ciphers have been designed and are available in the public domain, they are usually used in one of the four modes: the cipher block chaining mode, the cipher feedback mode, the output feedback mode, and the counter mode. In all these cases, a stream cipher is actually used, as any block cipher used in any of these modes becomes a stream cipher. Stream ciphers are pref...

High-speed, Loadable 16-bit Binary Counter

The AT6000 Series field programmable gate array (FPGA) lets the designer implement a fast synchronous, loadable 16-bit binary counter that operates at 70 MHz on and off chip under the worst commercial operating conditions. The use of prescaled logic to generate the carry-enable signals for each count bit allows faster operation than traditional carry-enable generation methods. The 16-bit counte...

High-speed All- Optical Time Division Multiplexed Node

In future high-speed self-routing photonic networks based on all-optical time division multiplexing (OTDM) it is highly desirable to carry out packet switching, clock recovery and demultplexing in the optical domain in order to avoid the bottleneck due to the optoelectronics conversion. In this paper we propose a self-routing OTDM node structure composed of an all-optical router and demultiplex...
